We have recently received reports of residential burglaries in the area and would like to remind residents of some simple steps that can help make your home less attractive to opportunist burglars.

🏡 Crime Prevention Advice: 

✅ Ensure all doors and windows are locked, even when you are at home.
✅ Use quality locks and consider additional security such as sash jammers or door chains.
✅ Install and maintain CCTV and/or doorbell cameras. These can act as a deterrent and provide valuable evidence if an offence occurs.
✅ Make sure security lighting is working and covers vulnerable areas of your property.
✅ Avoid leaving valuables on display where they can be seen through windows.
✅ If you are away from home, use timer switches on lights and ask a trusted neighbour to keep an eye on your property.
✅ Keep hedges and fences maintained to reduce hiding places around your home.
✅ Secure sheds, garages, tools, bicycles and other valuable items.

👀 Spot Something Suspicious? If you see anyone acting suspiciously, trying door handles, looking into vehicles or properties, or hanging around without a legitimate reason, please report it.
